Let me start by saying that I have never written a review for anything, but my experience with Tahoe Bike & Ski left me with no other choice but to commend them.
I was vacationing in the Tahoe area, looking to do some mountain biking along the infamous Tahoe Rim Trail. I knew very little about navigating around the area and where to even begin these trails. I also had travelled in a small SUV that was packed with so much stuff that there wouldn't be room for a bike to fit in there. All that being said, the guys at Tahoe Bike & Ski made sure I was able to do what I came to do and in the most enjoyable way possible.
Not only were their prices the best in town for a full suspension bike ($39/day for a Trek EX5) but they were also amazing at customer service. The two guys that helped me were very knowledgable about bikes as well as the area (one was the owner, Don). They were incredibly kind in helping me decide on where to start the trail, and Don even made copies of a trail map that he had so that I didn't have to fork out 12 bucks for my own map.
Now normally, there is a shuttle that runs people from the bottom of the trail back to the top. However, my visit was a few days before this shuttle began and therefore I would have to do an out and back route. BUT, Don then offered to pick me up at the end of the trail and bring me back (for $5 gas money) if I decided I wanted to do that. He simply gave me his cell phone number and asked that I called before closing time, which was very generous.
Finally, once I had realized that my car was so packed that the bike wouldn't fit in there, Don offered to lend me the back of his shop so that I could unload a few things in my car to make room for the bike. I moved some luggage to the back of his shop and left it there for the day while I enjoyed some AMAZING mountain biking on the trails that Don had led me to. I came back and picked up everything just as I had left it and that concluded my wonderful experience with these guys.
Never have I been so accommodated and the best part is that it was all just their inherent nature to be so helpful. I HIGHLY recommend anyone in the Tahoe area to use these guys for their rental needs.
