I've had 2 service appointments for my 2024 Model 3.

12/12/24: Rattle in the center of dashboard near windshield. Diagnosed and fixed. No further issues.

2/21/25: Rattle behind rear seats when playing music with bass. Diagnosed and fixed. No Further issues.

Both times Tim was the service advisor and Eric the tech that assisted me. Both were wonderful. Great experience for me.

Brought my model Y in to get the supercharging re activated, was quoted $1100 & ended up paying $1900 after a week.

I asked if any discounts were possible & the manager said no. I’m 28, so the $1100 was a lot for me. And after their testing was done, it seems like my battery % goes down more quickly now in general.

The employees working there are great, I’m just not stoked on Teslas customer service. I got financially wrecked from Tesla with this. You are at their mercy. If I got $1000 back, I would change this to a 5 star review.

The only positive out of the $2000 service was getting their loaner model 3 with full self driving capability, I do appreciate that & it helped sweeten the deal. But not an extra $1k out of my pocket.

9/24/24 Update: I went on a roadtrip to Shasta Lake and drove 300 miles north to a supercharger, only to find out that SUPER CHARGING WASN'T ACTIVATED XD One would think after paying $1900 for the reactivation and waiting 7 days that it would've been reactivated, nope! I guess the people that worked on my car remotely didn't have the employees onsite check that it would indeed supercharge.

My 9 hour trip turned into a 12 hour trip, Im shocked that this wasn't double checked. Im sure at the most I will get a: "Im sorry about that, would you like a model 3 rental for your troubles?"

Would love to talk to the manager here in person and have our interaction recorded.

🚨 Terrible Service Experience at Tesla San Luis Obispo 🚨

My experience with Tesla of San Luis Obispo has been nothing short of awful. My vehicle was in their service center for over a month, and even after all that time, the issues were not resolved. I’m still dealing with noises and other unresolved problems in my car.

The poor communication from the lead service advisor made the situation far worse. On October 29th, the day I dropped off my car, I was promised an Uber voucher to get home. However, during our messaging, they attempted to leverage an unrelated windshield incident against me, using it as an excuse to deny me the promised voucher. This was despite the fact that I had already worked with the other party’s insurance and everything was in place to address the windshield issue. Their handling of this situation was completely unwarranted and unacceptable. After hours of waiting in Nipomo for a response and repeatedly messaging the advisor for updates, I ultimately had to call a friend to come and pick me up because no ride was ever arranged.

On November 1st, when I returned to pick up my car, the problems continued. The lack of professionalism and accountability from the lead service advisor was glaring. Her dismissive response—“I’m sorry that you feel that way”—was a clear indication that she had no intention of addressing my concerns.

For a service center representing a brand like Tesla, this level of negligence and disregard for customers is shocking. I travel almost an hour to this location, expecting proper service, and this experience has shown me that my time and trust were misplaced. The staff here clearly needs better training, and Tesla corporate must step in to address the lack of accountability and professionalism at this location.

I was so frustrated by the poor treatment and lack of resolution that I filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau to report this service center’s negligence and mishandling of customer issues.

If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, I strongly recommend taking your business to Tesla Santa Barbara. Yes, it’s a longer drive, but the service is far superior, and you won’t have to deal with the kind of negligence and unprofessional behavior that defines the San Luis Obispo location.

Tesla employees must remember that customers drive their business. Without us, their jobs wouldn’t exist. I hope Tesla corporate takes notice and implements the necessary changes to fix the glaring issues at this location.

Terrible service. Cancelled my appointment to check the battery but didn’t bother to tell me. I bought a used 2019 Model 3 that gets maybe half the estimated range, but they act as if they’re frightened to look at it. No good explanation from the girl behind the counter, other than, “The manager is not here right now.”

I had a rough start with this service department when I scheduled a service visit at my home. No one showed up at the scheduled time! I received a message that the technician had called me twice when he reached my gate, left two voice messages, then left. There were no calls or messages on my phone, so I was unhappy because it seemed that they had lied to me. The next day, I went down to the service center in SLO with a chip on my shoulder and spoke to Alayna at the Service desk about getting my service needs met. I could not ask for a more professional, polite person to help me! She was terrific. My service was scheduled and completed as promised the next day. Additionally, she was helpful in answering my questions regarding an issue that I had with an accessory that I had purchased online. Working with her was a wonderful experience.

Arnie was very helpful with our demo drive. He made us not feel rushed and was very friendly in answering all our questions. He did a great job following up when I had a question about the purchase process. It is unfortunate you cannot pick up cars here, but still highly recommend.

Terrible customer service, the "gentleman" helping my wife was completely unprofessional. We went the first time and this exact person helped us. However, probably because they didn't fix the car correctly the first time, he had to deal with it again or maybe he woke up bad, but the second visit, he replied with one word answers. My wife asked for a loaner vehicle like the first time and he said no loaners available, and didn't suggest ride share credits or anything. My wife was about to cancel the appointment when she went back to ask about ride share and this person goes to say "well you never asked".
