Ordered a new bike online and when it arrived it was not in the condition i was expecting it to be in. Packaging appeared well and Shipping was great. However, it arrived dirty, fender mounts bent, fenders scratched, and seat post scratched. Probably won't be ordering online again.

Rented a MTB here for $80/day and the experience was awesome. Great service, bike, and helmet.

We rented 3 hard tail mtb for the day and rode around the Arastradero preserve. Everything went smoothly and we were quite happy with the price as well. Will definitely be returning in the future.

The way my bike chain and rear cassette were lubed while recently serviced is straight up disrespectful. I feel like my bike has constantly had issues and I haven't even had it that long. Thanks for putting me back out there but I'm breaking up with you, Bike Connection.

Excellent service and great staff! I bought a Marin gravel/road bike -- first couple rides the front tire started to fail. Brought it in and they replaced the tire for no charge.
Had the chain pop off into the cassette and they checked it out as part of the first year free tuneup -- I really had needed to clean the chain and they included that.
Also had looked for fenders and they special ordered SKS removable ones and set those up for me.

This rating is for in-store buying experience. Found the exact bike I was looking for (on closeout) 2 1/2 hours away at Bike Connection- called and Nico said he would match a slightly better price I found online. Drove down and no surprises, Nico was friendly, courteous and straight-up, honored the (killer) price no questions asked. Bike was in perfect condition and checked over quickly by techs while I waited. Asked if I needed.accessories but no hard upsell. Beautiful, clean store with 100’s of bikes in stock, well worth the drive.

Did not have a great experience here.

I took in my bike to get it fixed about 1.5 months ago, with the main issue being that my chain kept falling in between the wheel and the gear. I knew that the only way to conclusively fix the solution was to change the gear out for a bigger one, but when I took it in one of the shop workers was very adamant about the fact that this could not be done on my bike and that a derailleur adjustment would solve the issue. I was skeptical, but went ahead with his suggestion to see how it panned out.

Unfortunately (but perhaps predictably), this did not solve the issue and I was stuck 2 days ago having to walk my bike home in the sweltering heat when my chain got stuck again. I took in my bike - again - to this shop the following day to finally get the issue sorted and get a new gear on it. Unfortunately, that same worker (potentially the owner) was once again fixed on the idea that there is no way whatsoever a new gear could be fitted onto it, even though it was obvious to me that this was the only way to fix the issue. Once I saw that they were unwilling to work with me on this repair, I literally walked my bike 1min across the street to another shop and had them look at the issue. They were able to fix the issue within a couple hours, throw a new gear on it (all it took was a new spacer to make it work), and give me a bike that I can now trust on the road.

So, while perhaps a non-traditional critique, I found the close-mindedness of the staff here to be detrimental to my bike's performance and ultimately my time. I'm sure you will be okay if you buy a new bike here, but if you bring a bike to be fixed and have any mechanical intuition whatsoever just expect that you will probably be ignored and the repair may not pan out well - as in my case.
