My husband and I stayed here while we worked the Whiskey Flat Days. We will never stay here again. Bruce and Cassandra are nice people...just not organized. I booked our room in Oct and upon arriving, was told out room wasn't ready yet. It was being painted and wouldn't be ready for another 4 or 5 hours. We were initially given a room key for a temporary room, only to find it was already being used. We were then given another room to use until ours was finished. Had to have Bruce come fix the a/c unit in that room because remote wouldn't work. Finally got keys to our room at 8 p.m. which we moved into in the morning. A room we booked so we could use the stove...which not all the burners worked. Once in 'our' room, we were unable to use the bathroom sink because it wouldn't drain...and this was after Bruce replaced the pipe that broke...which was part of the delay in us getting our keys. The wallpaper that was being hung and the real reason we weren't able to get into the room (this was the 'painting' being done), was falling off the walls. I was afraid to use the shower so I have no idea if that works or not. Sheets are old and very used. It was not a pleasant stay at all. We were going to stay an extra day to explore the area but we were so irritated with the room that we left a day early. Reviews that gave this place a 4.1 rating are from previous owners. Bummer...this could be a super cute, nice place with a little bit of updating and money invested. Travelers beware!!

It had a good view and lots of hiking everything’s beautiful, the sunshine, the grass to walk around go fishing go to the rodeo grounds ride horses there’s a swimming pool or hot tub. Everything that you would like. But it was the best thing I experienced you should guys go try it out It was not that expensive. It’s affordable great views.

After a very long and hot day of riding up to Kernville, just wanted to check into our rooms. Problem was that there were people still in the rooms we reserved. I was given another room, but had to giggle the key in the lock to open it. They need to get new door locks or get a new locksmith. I was able to use my buddies key to open my door. The manager was friendly and helpful despite the situations.||The room was clean, but the lighting was dim. Air conditioner work great. Rustic wood interior, but modernized bathroom. The TV remote did not work well; as I had to use the TV side buttons to turn volume up and down, and also turn on and off. Sink stopper did not pop up 'n down, so do not manually close it or it will stay closed. No cups provided for water, ice or for the coffee maker. Wish the property had more lighting outside. Overall, slept well.

WARNING: Look at the last 4-5 reviews. This is the most unprofessional hospitality establishment I've EVER delt with.

Updated on 7-15-24. Please see their artificial response to me about making things right below. I sent them the information they requested to the email they provided last week and they failed to reply AGAIN! No surprises here. Save yourself the nightmare and stay elsewhere if you’re visiting the area.

I gave it 1 star because negative 5 wasn't an option. I booked a room online and attempted to contact them to confirm a few things. Well, the first phone number they listed was out of order. The next phone number I found the voicemail was full. So, after four times trying to reach them by phone and email, I canceled my room within the policy time limits in writing to both emails I could find. It's been over a month, and I still have not heard back from them. They still charged my card, and it has been disputed by my bank. I don't know how the owner of this place let's this happen. Extremely sad and very poorly run business.

I do NOT recommend staying here. We booked a family room for Memorial Day weekend more than a month ago directly via their website, at that time paying the deposit. When we arrived on Friday we were told that the room was double booked and no longer available. Non other room was available. They credited our deposit, but good luck finding something else on Memorial Day weekend. We were lucky that the whispering lodge (which ended up to be a really great place!) up the street still hd vacancy, but of course it was double the price.

The property manager claimed that she had called me the day to inform me, but I did not have any calls and also no emails from them.

I travel a lot and this has never happened to me. It is purely unprofessional. In particular, since we booked directly through their website and even made the deposit.

If this is how you treat your guests and define service, I highly recommend staying away from this place.

We stayed here 3 nights. The room are clean. The pool is great. I enjoyed every single thing that the lodge offered. This is our second visit to the site. I loved it.

Michelle helped me with making a reservation by phone. The rate was reasonable as family gathered for my mother’s celebration of life. Upon my arrival I checked in and paid for the suite. Right away we noticed the kitchen plumbing leaked. Also we noticed the TV was not working- Michelle and her assistant came to help. A new cable box was added which fixed that. However, the plumbing was tightened/patched and continued to drip into a container. A plumber was to be called, we were told, but never appeared. The kitchen smelled badly of mildew/mold. My daughter prepared food for the next day’s event in the kitchen… I was embarrassed that she had to deal with this inconvenience. I was assured by Michelle (manager) and Debbie (assistant) that I would receive a credit. I was never given a credit! From this point on (including checking out) I could not reach Michelle (or Michael-indicated on a note on the door) or the lodge number on the website. The morning I was to leave- office door was open but again I could not reach anyone to discuss the promised credit. The carpet needs to be replaced badly… otherwise the plumbing and bedding issues need to be addressed. Other guests experienced trouble reaching the management as well during our stay. My daughters observed this. The best thing about staying there- proximity to the pizza barn and coffee place and diner.
