I had a great experience with Thrifty car rental at the Fresno airport. Mr. Dennis Martinez at the front desk was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. He promptly greeted me on Friday 12/13 & assisted me quickly and efficiently with obtaining my rental vehicle. The RAV4 felt almost new and was spacious and clean. Returning the rental was also quick and simple. Thank you again Dennis and other helpful staff for a great experience at Thrifty! 😊

I experienced one of the worst customer service experiences ever at this location. First of all the back story: I received a text & email from thrifty telling me to check in online to make sure my car would be ready for me. Nowhere in this message were the hours mentioned.
My flight was on time but we were stuck on the tarmac for about 40 min. When I arrived at the car rental area anround 1010pm all companies except Thrifty were still open; I was told by a hertz employee that they closed at 10. I tried to call thrifty but could not get through to anyone. . I had to take an expensive uber to my destination.
I arrived the next day to pickup and was told I’d have to wait an hour for the car. Given this second inconvenience I asked the very understanding employee helping me (Genesis) if there was a manager I could share my experience with for any possible compensation and she seemed to think that was very reasonable & agreed to call the manager and ask.
I then waited an hour amd came back to get my car. She hadnt spoken to the manager yet so called from the desk. Her coworker (Dennis) who was not involved in our transaction at all until then decided to chime in by saying “that’s not our problem that your flight was late”. I pointed out the message I’d received assuring me that if I checked in online my car would be held for me & he very rudely said “that’s just an automated message”, again dismissing my concerns. I told him Genesis was doing a fine job addressing my issue and told him to please stay out of it. He refused and continued to make snide comments and mutter under his breath and when I asked for his name he rudely pointed to his name tag and said “I’m Dennis—hi”. Genesis was very uncomfortable and tried her best to keep composure, took my number & said she’d have the manager call me.
I have never been antagonized like this by a customer service person. I will be following up with the manager and will never use Thrifty again. Interestingly the number listed for this location is automated and I could not get through to a real person. I will persist.
I called Expedia who I reserved my car with thrifty through and they were so appalled and apologetic they gave me a $75 credit.
Dennis should not be working in customer service. I hope his boss reads this and follows up.

Rented a Toyota Corolla from this place. The cars I get are always used and have some sort of damage. The windshield had a chip on it when I first got it but did not think it would have been an issue. All I did with the car was drive it to my destination. Parked it in a secure spot and brought it back. I did not drive the car anywhere else but to get gas. Brought it back and then got an email saying that I had multiple damage on the car and have to complete an incident report for the car. Trying to make me pay for the windshield and other damage that was already on the car when I got it. I regret trusting thrifty and not taking pictures of the car when I first got it. Now they’re making me pay for something I did not do. Please stay away from this place. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. Do not take a chance with this car rental place. It might be cheap to rent but will end up expensive for you in the end. They will scam you out of your money to fix their used car. They did not even have pictures of the car before I got it to prove that damage was not already there.

Absolutely disappointed in the service. Tried it twice just to give them the benefit of the doubt but each experience was worst than the next. FYI Manager’s Special means any piece of junk car they can give you. This place pretty much gives you electric cars as a punishment. If you’re dumb enough to choose the special then they give you an electric car with no other options. The first time I got an EV it wasn’t fully charged and I didn’t make it the entire way there. The second time it was charged, but the battery depleted so quickly it’s practically empty only 160 miles later. Also, the people who work there are poorly trained and lack the most basic customer service skills. It’s a wonder this company is still in business. Every person that rented a car from this place walked away angry, so there’s definitely a problem there. Will not use this company again. If I do please put me out of my misery.

Place is frustrating. I made a reservation and they don't have any cars ready. Told me up yo a 2 hour wait. That is unacceptable.

Update: waiting 1.5 hours so far. Offered a downgrade and no reimbursement of the difference.

What a joke.

Update: two hour wait, offered a $50 voucher and a car that had trash in it and was banged up. Truly disappointed.

DO NOT BOOK HERE. We had a 10pm reservation, arrived at 9:30pm, and their desk was already closed for the night leaving us stranded. Their hours clearly stated open until 10pm but the workers just decide when to leave I suppose. The other car rental companies told us this happens FREQUENTLY at this location. They then refused to refund us AND the managers number we were given was conveniently disconnected when we tried to call. Do NOT book here!!!

Thrifty has treated me exceptionally well. I've been renting weekly for over 2 1/2 mos. Sometimes there's not a big variety but other times there are. They always have a car for you tho. I do gotta say I wish they would pay more attention to the windows. Every car I've rented has hazy inside windows & dried water spots on the outside. You can tell the water spots become perm. Also the bugs don't get washed off all the way. I thought I should say something. But GREAT customer service. Quick & friendly. Helpful when something arises to get you in your car & going.

“None of the cars are ready.” As the person before us gets a vehicle. They offered no discount because it was already paid. The man was nice, but this is still bad business when the reservation has been made for a while. I’ll definitely choose a competitor next time.
