Check-in was extremely poor customer service - CAE airport. Went to check-in and there was no one at the Thrifty counter, however there was a sign that directed me to Hertz. The woman at the Hertz counter said to me, hurry up sir, I shouldn't even be accepting you because I'm leaving. I apologized, although I was on time for my pickup - I don't even know why I apologized, but I did. Her customer service skills continued to be be poor. She continued to bash Thrifty on how they're never at the counter and they close the window all the time, and she is hungry. She continues with, they shouldn't be closing their window at all. I never said any more to her. She never ended the conversation. She gave me the rental agreement and left the counter. No, have a nice day or nice travels. I wasn't even given the option for additional insurance, gas options, etc.
Return rental - Thrifty did not have a rep at the return. I had to return the car and go inside the airport to hand in my keys, actually this time to a nice gentleman at Thrifty, and he apologized that no one was at the return, however, I need you to walk back to the car and obtain the miles. I had to walk back across the airport to the car that I had to return because no rep was there between the hours 4:30-5:30pm. If this is going to be the process, a sign should be made visible, if no agent please be sure to obtain the miles or whatever the required information is, and walk to the airport car rental counter. If you have a flight to catch this is a huge inconvenience. But, at least the return customer service rep was approachable and apologized for the inconvenience.
