I had a terrible experience with Thrifty in Oakland. I had reserved a car with a pickup today at 11am at 1001 Broadway avenue in Oakland. When I go there there was no Thrifty store, only a Hertz one (where the kind lady working at the desk let me know there had been many other people turning up trying to find this Thrifty and finding nothing).
I called and immediately got to speak to someone who didn’t seem surprised to find out there was no store. They tried to find me a different location after checking with the Hertz in Oakland for an availability there but were told that that specific Hertz store does not work with Thrifty.
They changed my reservation to the Hertz store they DO work with in Albany (a 25 min drive from the inexistant Oakland location) with a 12:00 pick up. By this time it was 11:30 am so I rushed to get a Lyft but with traffic made it there at 12:15 to find out the second Thrifty/Hertz location WAS CLOSED. They closed at 12. I was unable to pick up the car at all and the whole process cost me at least 60$ in Lyft rides.
Make sure you check which location you pick if you do choose to rent a car from thrifty in the Bay Area. But I have cancelled my order with them because it was just a little too much for me. I don’t understand how they have a pickup location that doesn’t exist and haven’t fixed it yet.

I booked the car and got confirmation. Then they said they didn't have it after I waited for 30 minutes to be seen. Of course, they said the only cars they had cost more!!! What a rip off.
