My Malibu boat got a scratch on the side of its body and it has a get coat paint with metal flake cover, it can only be repaired with Malibu dealers and that's why I called Tilly's Marine.
When I made the call I specifically asked to speak to the service department to make sure that they deal with this type of service since I'm over 60 miles away from them and they confirmed they did it and asked that I bring my boat in for observation so they can provide with a quote.
I made the drive and brought my boat in, met with Jason and Tony in service, they took a look at my boat and said they believe it will be around $15,000 based on their professional opinion and that they would email an exact quote the next day. I did get other quotes from professional Malibu dealers and they all ranged between $4,000-$6,000. Their price seemed extremely high but still I wanted to take a look at the quote and understand what will be done in order to repair my boat and get it to its original condition. Also I would like to mention my boat is new (purchased only 2 years ago) and is in mint condition it's a 2018 Malibu boat with many additional upgrades. While i was there they tried to sell me a $110,000 boat trading my boat for it when the MSRP of my boat is $169,000. Who would sell or trade their boat due to a minor scratch ? Also why would I loose such value of my boat for a lesser value boat?
Waited to receive my quote via email the next day and did not receive anything, called them, Jonathan answered and said it will be ready the next day which was Friday.
Called again at the end of the day Friday since haven't received anything and Jonathan answered again and said that they couldn't send it because they are waiting on the gel coat price and that it should be ready on Monday.
Called back on Monday and there was no answer - went to voicemail and their voicemail was full.
Called maybe 10 times throughout the day until finally Johnathan picked up and claimed he doesn't know what estimate I'm talking about and said they will get back to me.
I started loosing my faith in this company and decided I should email the owner. I emailed him on Monday, today is Thursday and still haven't gotten a response back.
Called again on Tuesday asked to speak to a manager or someone in charge Johnathan answered again and said the person in charge of estimates is not in and there is no manager available (that's after telling me the previous days that this person works every day of the week other than weekends)
Then finally called them AGAIN yesterday which was Wednesday, Jonathan answered as usual (I already recognized his voice) and said we are sorry but we don't provide the type of service that you need and can't provide with an estimate. As you can assume I was extremely upset at that point and told him I will definitely be writing a review with regards to my horrible experience with their company. At that point he claimed his name is Smith! Just hilarious.. to summarize I would definitely will not be using their services they are extremely unprofessional, unreliable and on top of all liars! I do not recommend them and will not recommend them to anyone I know. 0 stars !!!

Tilly’s is awesome. Eric our salesman was super helpful and available from starting the shopping experience and test drives to buying. We have now owned our current boat for five years and the service department is 100% there to help. Robert has a great attitude and is very helpful!

I recently had the pleasure of dealing with Eric and Jonathan at Tilly's marine for a purchase of a brand new Malibu wakesetter.
They were professional , courteous and very patient answering weeks of questions.

They have since gone above and beyond delivering the boat and explaining the operating system.

The dedicated customer service paired with industry expertise puts Tilly's Marine of Ventura well past the maximum 5 Stars! We recently purchased a boat from this location and have been more than satisfied by the effort and care during the entire process by all the staff. My boyfriend came visited the location just browsing not even in the market to purchase a boat but sales member Jonathan's enthusiasm and knowledge on the new 2018 Axis brand ignited an interest that demanded bringing one of these boats home! (not to mention Jonathan was not the "typical" salesman. He is honest, realistic and genuine.) Fast forward a few days and Erik had an Axis shipped within very short notice from the Norco location for us to look at since this was the one that caught my boyfriends attention.(he needed to see it like yesterday) It was a no brainer once we saw the boat and again the knowledge/insight on the Axis 2018 line Jonathan and Cory offered only sealed the deal even more. Since bringing the boat home we have had numerous questions and inquiries on the surfgate and ballast which are quickly answered by Erik! (he probably regrets giving his cell phone number to us) In the last 2 years we have made a few other large purchases and had home improvements done being left disappointed by lack of integrity in work and poor communication. It has really been refreshing to find a local dealership that follows through and ultimately CARES about their customers! They have displayed the most dedication throughout the entire process not just until the deal was made and that is what sets them apart from the rest! I could continue on about all the ways they have displayed greatness but my fingers are getting tired. 🙂 Tilly's Marine Ventura gets a A+++ from the Lovato's, we will NEVER go anywhere else for our boating needs!

My husband and I walked in to Tilly's Marine in Ventura, Ca about 6 months ago. We knew very little about boats, but we knew we wanted one. Erik Smentek greeted us casually and our lesson began. He knew darn good and well that day was not the day he would sell a boat to us, but he spent a good 2 hours with us. Answering everything! We lleft feeling very informed. We were interested in the Chapparel. The next day we drove to Long Beach to 2 dealerships and were not impressed.
In the following months Erik followed up twice. Just recently, we went in for follow up questions and to deal with financing. He was very friendly and fun with our 2 children and we were very impressed overall. He even printed out pages for our youngest to color. She was very happy. And our 10 year old boy loved checking out the boats.
The next weekend we met him at the lake and we went over everything. We are now proud owners of a beautiful 2017 family boat.
Erik was a pleasure to work with and he went above and beyond by having an employee that lives nearby drop off some ski equipment to our house so we could enjoy our first family trip. He exceeded our expectations. We will always refer friends and family to Tilly's and have them ask for Erik. Thanks again!! You rock!!
