THE WORST STORAGE FACILITY EVER: the summary below are two of the nightmares experienced; A-Z NIGHTMARE!

U-HAUL NIGHTMARE #1
Today, Friday, December 22, 2023, at approximately 2:15 p.m. when leaving the Uhaul Storage location, located at 6414 44th Street, Sacramento, CA 95823, I was falsely imprisoned. The gate would not open to let me out and the sign on the gate, which is inaccurate, stated to use the "gate opener" or "keypad" to exit the Uhaul Storage location. First, there is no Keypad located on the inside of the storage facility, nor was I ever given a gate opener to exit. I called the office which is located over a mile away, and spoke to Hector A., who contacted his supervisor, Brittany Peralta. Per Hector, he said that his manager told him that I had probably not used my card and followed another storage renter into the gated facility, which was not the case. I used my key to enter the gated storage facility. He then said I should come to the office which I reminded him I could not do as I was locked in the gated storage facility. He then told me I would need to wait there until someone entered the gated storage facility to leave. RIDICULOUS!!!! I told him I was going to call the police as this was false imprisonment. He could not leave me locked in there until someone, potentially comes to let me out on the Friday before Christmas. All this was at the direction of his supervisor, according to him, Brittany Peralta.

I then proceeded to climb the fence, where the rusted barbed wire cut my skin in numerous places as well as my clothes. I told him I was on my way to the office and that I was bleeding and would need a tetanus shot from my injuries to escape my false imprisonment at the Uhaul Storage facility. I then drove to the Uhaul business office and asked where I could clean my wounds as I was bleeding and crying. After using the restroom to wash my wounds I requested the district manager's name which he said he did not know but eventually after asking numerous times was given the name of Dave, with no last name. He said his manager, Brittany would be there in 10 minutes and I said I had no intention of waiting for her. He also noted that she was not on the Uhaul Gated Storage facility and that is why she would not answer the door or assist me. I then said no, there was a car parked there and someone peaked through the blinds.

After leaving there shaken and wounded I called the Uhaul at Arden, spoke to Christian, explained the situation, and requested the District Manager's name to which he provided your name.

Once home, I called the location listed above and Brittany answered the phone. She pretended she was not aware of the situation. I said I was/am requesting the phone conversation, and video coverage at the locked Uhaul Storage facility, with Hector at approximately 2:36 p.m. as well as the current call at 3:56 p.m. She requested I relay the situation vs. email. I told her I needed to clean my wounds and would include her on this email.

In summary, I now have cuts from climbing to escape the locked Uhaul storage facility where I was falsely imprisoned and need a tetanus shot within 48 hrs so I do not die from tetanus poisoning from the rusted barbed wire.

My phone number is below and I will anticipate a call back ASAP so I can seek medical attention and not die from my injuries.

NIGHTMARE #2
I had less than two hours to move out. I paid the cleaning deposit which you stated if the unit was not clean, I would not receive the deposit back.

You also said that I had to 6:00 pm and did not provide any information on other options. I recorded the conversation to ensure an accurate account of the situation, what happened and what was said, or not said; as I have learned from the past experiences with you that you change the details to suit your needs (e.g. cover you rear when you handle customer service situations poorly and know that if you told the truth of the situation, you would be held accountable for your actions, inactions, poor direction to subordinates and horrible customer service).

I’ve been denied access to my unit multiple times during normal access hours due to malfunctions at the gate. Also denied me 24 hour access without warning because my business license expired and didn’t bother to contact me or warn me. They claim I couldn’t get in yesterday at 7pm because my business license was expired, even though it was within the normal access hours. The staff don’t care if you have a business to run. They also cut my lock when I first moved in because of a record-keeping mistake on their end. If your payment is late at all they deny access without any warning (in my case the card I used for auto pay had expired and they never contacted me to update it - just locked me out instead). This location is not business friendly.

Recently just moved out of this facility, and although I got the run around from the Western Sac area to rent hardware to move out, the people at 1644 is so sweet, honest and caring. They went above and beyond to get me moved in and to help me move out. I can't think of the facility manager who helped me so great, but she has beautiful lashes and of Latina descent. I even enjoyed the gentleman who helped with my purchases and my selection of the right storage space. I believe this is a 5x15. Do yourself a favor and rent here! They have great discounts if you had a one-way move to town and they're there to help if you have problems. Entrance is by keycard only.

I went to this location for a special price that I was offered, despite it being a little bit further away from my house. I am so glad I did! I was welcomed by the manager, Betty, over the phone as soon as I made my reservation. Cheng, the customer service representative at the counter, provided amazing service. Although I could tell he was new, he managed to juggle phones, truck rentals, storage rentals, shipping supply sales, and truck returns with ease. I went here for the price, I will stay for the service.

The management and staff before was fantastic. They always had a smile on their face, welcoming and you can tell they really meant it. The management now, is an awful person in general and not an honest welcome and they staff seems very uneasy. It feels like a cemetery there. It's a storage facility not a boot camp. My son is 11years old and really really needed to use the restroom. He ask they said, "NO!" Like if he was going to take the toilet seat or walls. I was dissatisfied. Management there now makes it very difficult and not at all courtesy. I used to buy Starbucks and bring lunch to Debbie, Lethicia and their staff that manage it before just because and management now I can careless if they starve. Mean I know but true...

It's pretty messed up to have a cerfew at 7pm. And every other Sunday Im misteriously "denied access". As every other paying customer I shouldn't have a cerfew or get locked out. U-Haul is 24hour access, I get 12 hour window? I've payed my rent on time and I kept it clean around my unit for the last 2 1/2 years. Can an "owner" or corperate help me with my confusion. Nct

I was unable to return my rental before closing; as a result of, other patrons at the facility I choose not to leave the unit with key in it and will return when it opens. Rather, be safe than a victim of circumstances.

Seriously, go to this location. The manager, Debbie, is awesome. They match discounts, they have some great deals, and management lives on property, so there's always someone there to watch who comes and goes, even after hours. The storage units are clean, and all staff are great. No complaints.
