Absolutely terrible customer service! The person who gets phone calls is absolutely unprofessional and incompetent! We heard about that place lots of bad stories but we couldn’t believe how awful that place, especially gay who answers phone calls. Now we know! We’re very disappointed!
U-Haul you definitely need to improve your customer service and change the guy who works there!

Terrible Experience and Overcharged!

I was supposed to return my rental on Sunday but managed to finish early and returned it on Saturday. When I dropped it off, a driver in the parking lot told me to just leave the truck there and return the key—no need to go inside. I tried to explain that I noticed an overcharge on my account and needed to speak to someone to ensure I’d be refunded the correct amount, as promised.

The driver refused and said everything is done online or by phone. Fair enough, I contacted U-Haul, and they guaranteed me that Parkway Postal in Chino would call me and update my charge. Days later, no call, but I got another charge!

After calling them three times to resolve this, U-Haul finally opened a dispute, claiming I was charged double because they believe I returned the truck three days late. Excuse me? I returned it early, but now I’m being penalized because their own driver didn’t let me handle things properly. U-Haul, this feels like a scam!

Standardized service. The guy is actually doing his job pretty well.

Beware of this place that does not provide parking so you need to have someone stop you off and pick you up. Other branches I have rented do have parking like in Thousand Oaks and other places. They are not responsible for the loss, however, they do allow you to leave you car there.

And also, this place has movers waiting in the sidewalk for hire. They will wave at you and see whether you need their service, which is not bad.

When we returned the truck, the homeless guy who slept at front office door said to us: you can’t park here while I was checking in to returns the truck. That is funny he does not work there and yet helps out.

The place also is not like other branches that sometimes they throw in some blankets for you to cover your belongings for free. I guess it depends on people and location. But this place is quite standard and does not give you more or less, and does not offer freebies.

I'd give it 5 stars except that when I came to the site after hours to return the truck, I tried for a while to upload the photos and the app wasn't working properly so I didn't know if the return went through or not. So I had to take the truck back home, park it and return very early this morning just to find out that the online return had been successful! Also trying to log on using the barcode they have on that pole didn't work either. Could be the glare of the light fixture shining on it in the dark?
One more thing, when I got the truck, about 3 miles out, the 'low fuel' light went on even though the documentation and even the fuel gauge had said it had 1/4 tank. I had to pull over and get gas en route to the move. So that was a bit of a bother.
Otherwise, employees were friendly and the transaction on both ends went relatively smoothly. Thank you.

The service agent at the location was nice and professional, however when I went out to the truck, the smell was nauseating, smelling of human feces. I notified the agent and he stated that someone relieved themselves on the parking lot and that it hadn't been power washed yet. After leaving and driving the truck home, I could still smell the stench. It was as if someone smeared their poop on the rear of the truck. I had the truck for two days and the smell never went away. If you truck stinks, insist it be hosed down. Because of this, my experience with the truck was awful.

I had scheduled to pick up my truck at 7am this morning with 24/7 mobile pick up. When I arrived at 7am, the entrances and exits were (purposely) blocked by trucks, making me have to wait TWO HOURS just to get my truck. When I arrived, the app nor online page would let me pick up the truck on my phone even though All steps had been cleared. I had to stand in line for almost an hour, outside, in order to speak with Amado Garcia, who was absolutely Zero help or use. He told me that I could drop off the truck after hours, and that the lot/facility would be available for after hour drop off. Again, all entrances and exits were blocked by other trucks, even though there was Plenty of space in the lot.
