DO NOT GO HERE IF JESUS IS STILL ASSISTANT MANAGER. I’ve rented all across the nation and have never had to experience as horrible customer service as I did here. The Assistant Manager Jesús is dismissive, unwilling to assist you, multitask and has conversation with other employees the entire time you are being helped. When asked about towing our vehicle vs renting a U-Haul trailer Jesus told us it would not be possible and gave us a wildly inaccurate price estimate then walked away from us to go work on something else before we could ask any more questions. Jesus told us that he was looking up other locations and we would not be able to find a rental truck in all of California. (Which was absurd). We immediately were able to make a same day reservation on our phone at his location once we got back in our vehicle. I had to call a national representative and the Local scheduler (Crystal, who was awesome) to confirm that the reservation I made would in fact be provided to me once I returned inside. We were finally able to get the vehicle with the help of a different young man (Oozy?) working behind the desk. I would not recommend using this location and I would recommend this company get rid of Jesus as he does not represent the customer service and kindness I’ve come to find at almost every other U-Haul across the nation.

The guy at the counter was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable and got me in and out really quickly. I thought I had made a reservation on the web site but apparently it hadn't gone through. The guy took care of me anyway and made the whole experience easy.

Lack of maintenance of the trucks, you will have a headache with your changes, I do not recommend it.

I recently assisted a friend of mine with moving and after what I saw her experience with the assistant manager Jesus I will never be using this U-Haul Location. He was no help to her and essentially told her she couldn’t get a truck anywhere, saying he checked. I watched her go online and make a reservation and return and a different kid behind the desk set her up and had her off in less than 20 minutes. If up to Jesus she would be waiting at Penske for a truck.

The staff here has everything dialed in. It was slammed on the last day of the month and yet the line moved quickly, and staff was friendly and helpful. The virtual check in is a game changer too. Equipment in great shape.

At pick up, I was told it didn’t matter what lock I got that my stuff would get stolen if Oakland wanted it. At the U-Haul Storage, I was told the 10 ft truck I just rented could not fit in the drive through although the reservation details do not indicate that. At the U-Haul storage upon arrival personal conversations by staff were happening with the associate interacting with me, while I was being ignored. Upon returning the truck no one was at the front desk, instead someone was in the back giving me instructions on where to park the truck and I had to re park the truck 3 times. 10 out of 10 do not recommend. Horrible experience.
