I have recent experience renting a wheelchair van from United Access. I recommend them to anyone considering a short or long term rental. They provide reliable near new equipment to ensure as best as possible an excellent experience. While their entire team is supportive, I am most familiar with Laura Hagins, who primarily handles their rental business. she is particularly organized and focused on customer needs. She is very familiar with products and process to make the rental as easy as possible.

Great people to do business with. Professional and friendly. I have had them repair our van, rent us a van, and now purchased a new van. Very happy with them.

I am beyond grateful for United Access. We have a mobility van for my mom and were traveling in the area for a vacation/special event when the kneeling system started to malfunction. United Access offered for me to come by their location so they could at the very least take a look and see what they could help with.

Upon arrival I was asked wait for Erik who was helping another customer. A bit later Erik called to let me know he was slightly delayed. So Laura approached to let me know of his delay. And after talking with her for a few moments she personally took time to walk out to the parking lot to help me herself.

Laura walked me through several things and helped me to diagnose the issue and temporarily disconnect the system causing trouble. Her patience, compassion and superior knowledge of the product was wonderful. She understood that I was in a vulnerable state and took time to connect and help me navigate the situation.

The problem still needs to be resolved but I can at least safely transport my Mom home from our trip and get to my regular van repair place. She helped to put my mind at ease and restore my confidence in operating the van without the kneeling system until it can be fixed.

I am grateful to both Laura & Erik at United Access for going above and beyond with customer service.

If you’re in the area and need a mobility vehicle or repair I definitely encourage you to call United Access!

Recently we had no way to get a temporarily disabled family member to an important Monday Dr. Appointment. At the last minute on a Fri evening Laura stayed late and took the time to set up a rental for a Mobility Van first thing Mon morning. She even arrived early on Mon to make sure we could finish the paperwork and get going. Thanks to the whole team at UA and to Laura!

Bought a 2007 van with a wheelchair ramp for our terminally ill grand daughter with the promise this company would buy it back after she died. When contacted after her passing we brought the van back, we we were at first offered low ball offer, less than half what we paid in August 2023, then told the van was damaged and refused to honor their promise. Stay away from this company, they take advantage of people in need because of illness or injury.

I felt so taken care of by Laura Hagins at the office at 3285 Santa Rosa Ave., in Santa Rosa, Ca. I completed an application on line one evening a couple of weeks before an event and received an email from Laura shortly after. I was able to get the type of vehicle I needed to transport my son to a special family event. He was very pleased with the stability of sitting in his wheelchair in the passenger side of the van we rented. I would definitely use this center again as needed.

STAY AWAY!!

This business takes advantage of people in vulnerable situations and employs sloppy and unethical business practices.

We purchased a Honda Odyssey with a wheelchair accessibility conversion package from sales associate Tony Nava. When asked about the resale value of the van, Tony said that it would be $5,000 to $7,000 less than the purchase price. After only 3 months and 600 miles, the Ability Center quoted a resale price of over $20,000 less than the purchase price. When pressed about the discrepancy between the quoted $7,000 discount from the $20,000 discount, the manager's response was to sell the van on craigslist.

Furthermore, the license plates were sent to the dealership rather than our home, and the dealership never forwarded the pink slip. The Ability Center has been unprofessional and unresponsive throughout our interactions since this purchase. For example, the missing pink slip is still unresolved over 3 months after the purchase with no help from the Ability Center.

Given that these vehicles are a specialty item, their resale is more complicated than for a typical vehicle. The Ability Center takes advantage of this fact in the context of most resales occurring after the death of a family member and few resources to put in the extra work required to sell the vehicle for a fair price. While it is understandable that they need to run a profitable business, they seem to take advantage of people in a vulnerable situation, which is particularly frustrating after being told that they will purchase the vehicle back for a fair price.
