Test rode a couple of electric bikes a few years back. I enjoyed the experience and was looking forward to one day committing to an electric bike as a commuter for work. The time has finally come that I'm ready to get serious about purchasing, but alas Zero has make some bad moves and started charging extra for full use of the battery you own on your bike as a "performance enhancement", and the same for 100% faster charging rates, all through software with their app. This is sleazy used car dealer tactics that I wouldn't expect from one of the leading electric motorcycle manufacturers. I could understand unlocking extra speed or security features like Tesla, but holding 20% of the battery hostage and limiting the charge speed 100% under what it can do with the hardware that has been purchased is unacceptable. This is not the way to encourage riders to move to EV.

I just bought a used 2021 SR/F. so far, I am very happy with it, I traded in my 2015 SR and now i feel like i am on a full size bike, and the charge times and range has improved significantly. Veryy happy with it

After reflecting on the quality and professional ethics of this company's collaborators towards its employees, I have come to the conclusion that, no matter how much they try to convey an image of quality and values through their website or digital platforms, I will never consider this company serious or professional in any regard. Moreover, what has been previously mentioned leads me to the question: Does quality control truly focus on ensuring excellence and meeting standards, or is it simply about meeting pre-established production metrics?

I just realized I never left a review for this "company". Run, do not walk, run, if you are thinking of buying a Zero. I bought a used 2022 FX with 1k miles on it from the first owner. A few weeks later, I noticed 4 spokes snapped on the real wheel. After 14 days at the shop, Zero finally shipped the replacements from CA to AZ. I would go on to break 4 to 5 spokes a couple more times, including on a brand new wheel Zero sent (to the wrong dealership location). My bike cut out on me twice in traffic. Completely shut itself down without warning while I was going 45 MPH. 6 weeks at the dealership and the only response I got from Zero was "We need photos of both sides of the motorcycle."

If your Zero works, then it's probably a great experience. But if you need parts or your bike has issues, you are hosed. There is no way to contact anyone at the company, and the two gatekeeper secretaries who answer the phone, Nicole and some other maroon, are more useless than useless can be.

Avoid Zero, just read the other reviews, look at the prices of used bikes, talk to people selling their Zero bikes and you will quickly understand that Zero is a garbage company that doesn't stand by their product. I own 4 Honda motorcycles, never had an issue with any of them. My Zero was just issue after issue, and I truly hope the company is wiped out by other competition.

DO NOT BUY A ZERO!

Nicole in customer service was very helpful with a parking mode upgrade. Daniel at the Zero factory is extremely knowledgeable and thorough with his technical support and got my bike running like a beast. There is no better motorcycle. ⚡️🏍️

Stay away, if you're considering a Zero product. I loooooved the company and their products, had an early 2013 Zero but it had issues and they stopped supporting it, did the full revamp, I bought an 18 FX, now it's batteries are trash at 3800 miles after caring for them exactly per the owner's manual. It should be 100% easier to make a reliable electric vehicle compared to ICE, and Zero has screwed even that up royally. Customers are left with expensive paperweights and no support. Why else would a dedicated Wiki site need to be created by owner's? As another person said, "Zero is a garbage company just trying to look good enough to be bought out by big money."

I think word is getting out, but not soon enough for a lot of us....

Due to environmental concerns, I gave up driving fossil fuel-powered cars ten years ago and have stuck to public transit ever since.

I recently calculated that I am spending $1000 a month to commute by public transit. I decided to buy an electric motorcycle for various reasons: eco-friendly, low-maintenance, easy to charge in any standard outlet.

I bought a brand-new Zero S on July 7th. I bought a power tank because I need the extended range to commute.

After three weeks of shrugging whenever I asked the dealership when the power tank would arrive, I finally told them to just deliver the damn bike and I'd bring it back for installation when they finally got the power tank in.

The first weekend I had it, I rode it all morning with no problems. Went home, topped up the battery while I ate lunch, and rode it to a local lake less than ten miles away from my home. I dismounted, took some photos, and went to head home. Battery at "0%." Would not charge when connected to a genny. Ended up having to get it towed 45 miles back to the dealership, where it's been ever since. Three weeks on and they still don't know what's wrong with it.

Plus, STILL no power tank after six weeks.

So now, a month and a half after my brand-new motorcycle purchase, I'm STILL paying $1000 a month to commute by public transit, PLUS paying off a brand-new motorcycle, plus paying insurance on a bike I can't ride. Thanks, Zero.

I have so, so much buyer's remorse.

Useless money grabbing company with no customer support or service.
My 2020 DSR was not updating. Zero said it needed a recall part replaced. Shop says my bike doesn't have that part.
Shop does the update for me and I end up walking home after being stranded on the side of the highway, because the bike doesn't work properly after.
This company is more concerned with Government contracts, and now that they have those we are seeing their true made in America colors.
